Safeclean was established in 1965 by Desmond Cook as a small, independent cleaning business. What began as a one-man operation has grown into a respected nationwide network of over 40 franchisees, each dedicated to providing professional carpet and upholstery cleaning services across the UK.

Over the decades, Safeclean has evolved from local roots into a trusted brand recognised for quality, reliability, and outstanding customer service. Our network includes a range of business models, from single-territory sole traders to management franchises operating across multiple areas with teams of skilled technicians.

In 1985, Safeclean began working closely with leading Furniture Protection Plan provider, Guardsman. This partnership strengthened over time, and in 1991, Safeclean officially became part of the Guardsman business. Today, as Safeclean by Guardsman, we are proud to be the preferred cleaning specialists for Guardsman’s upholstery insurance work — providing franchisees with consistent opportunities and customers with total peace of mind.
